Final Project!
For my final project I went to a local school to educate children on ocean conservation. The school my mentor and I went to was a full BriBri school, meaning they were the native people of Costa Rica. There was only 8 (ranging from aged 7-14) kids in the class and only half of them spoke Spanish (their primary spoke BriBri) and only two to them had been to the beach located in Limon, 4 hours from their village. The most shocking thing about working with the kids was to learn and feel how humbling their life style is. These children don't have rides or sidewalks in their town. They had never traveled nor had a huge desire to. They had never even herd of snow! They were so happy and grateful to have gusts at their school, I believe they really valued their experience. Just as I did. Below are some photos of the day. Enjoy!
