Arte y Langua
In this project we chose an artist of our liking from a Spanish speaking country. I chose an artist named Antoni Gaudi, an architect. We then replicated one peace of their art with our own creative swing. Oh corse, I did not create a building. I created a a mosaic that looks like the walls of his buildings.
Antoni Gaudi y La Tortuga
Heidi Williams
Reflexion
In this project I learned a lot about forming sentences together and saying them out loud. I did not expect them to be as flowing as they were when I started practicing them over and over again. While studying my artiest, Gaudi, I learned that we share a passion in not only creating beautiful work but also in nature. When Gaudi would build his buildings he would watch nature being destroyed for his work, so in his mosaics he would create small hidden pictures of trees and other things in nature as a tribute to there chopping down. I am proud of my writing because it is the biggest thing I have ever written in Spanish and this language is very important to me because I am going to be spending a lot of time in Mexico over the next few years and I plan to be fluent. Next time I would choose to do a painting and not a mosaic because I had no idea it would take me an extra week after the due date. The most challenging thing about this project was creating my mosaic because it was more of a construction project then an art piece until its finished.
